MySpace Is Awarded 2006 Hitwise Top 10 Searched For Brands In USNEW YORK, NY - March 21, 2007 - Today, Hitwise, the world's leading online competitive intelligence service, announced that MySpace was the top searched for brand in 2006 receiving the highest volume of searches based on the annual Internet usage of over 10 Million US Internet users across more than 50 search engines.
The table lists the 2006 top 10 brand terms searched for based on a 52 week average of industry search terms among all US websites. Following 'myspace' was 'ebay', with 'yahoo', 'mapquest' and 'craigslist' rounding out the top five top brands. Among the top 10 winners, were bricks and mortar brands Walmart, Target and Bank of America.
