Google Accounted For 65 Percent Of All U.S. Searches In April 2007
Google Search Market Share Up 11 Percent Year-Over-Year

 

NEW YORK, NY - May 9, 2007 - Hitwise, the leading online competitive intelligence service, today announced that the Google accounted for 65.26 percent of all US searches in the four weeks ending April 28, 2007. Yahoo! Search, MSN Search and Ask.com each received 20.73, 8.46 and 3.69 percent respectively. The remaining 47 search engines in the Hitwise Search Engine Analysis Tool accounted for 1.86 percent of U.S. searches.

Google an Increasing Source of Traffic to Key Industries

Search engines continue to be the primary way Internet users navigate to key industry categories.  Comparing April 2007 to April 2006 - Travel, Entertainment and Business and Finance categories received more than double digit increases in their share of traffic coming directly from search engines.
